We’re excited to announce that memberships at The Art Department are now open! Becoming a member not only supports your artistic practice but also helps build a creative community — one of our core values.
Our membership program offers four different options (listed below) and we’ve tried to make something that fits for everyone. It is important that you have prior pottery experience and can work independently in the studio (using equipment, tools and glazes). Usually 6 weeks of classes will be sufficient. You can sign up for 3 hour blocks of time when the Pottery Studio is open. NOTE: This is a community studio (a shared space) and so be aware that there will be times when others will be working with various mediums throughout the studio and classes may be taking place. There will also be times during the year when the studio is closed due to private events, public events, holiday breaks, etc.
We require all new members to go through our orientation session. This is waived if you have taken pottery classes with us previously. Our memberships auto renews each month and we ask for one calendar month notice to cancel. Only work made from The Art Department clay and glazes will be fired in our kilns. We are a new studio and there will be things to learn as we go along so we may have to make changes to our membership structure and/or pricing as necessary and reserve the right to do so with two months notice. We hope you understand. (And we are always open to questions and feedback).
